John holds the overall responsibility for business development, sales and strategic direction for the company He says, “I was attracted to take the role of president because of Kevin’s reputation, and his long-term commitment to the building industry. We provide education and consultation for architects, designers and builders serving residential, commercial and public building markets. Our team enjoys the creativity, but it is based upon a sound knowledge of engineering and best professional practices in concrete construction.”
John came to Polished Concrete Plus after serving as President and CEO for Wells Concrete, an $80 million business. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Iowa State University in Construction Engineering, which led him to work as a director engineering and plant supervisor in ready mix concrete production. He has worked in various management roles for major companies in concrete, including Lafarge, Ralph M. Parsons, Wilson Concrete and Apple Valley Ready Mix. His experience include conducting training as a regional instructor for American Concrete Institute (ACI) Flatwork Finisher courses, and as a national instructor for World of Concrete’s continuing education courses about mix design, troubleshooting and quality control.
